FAQ’s

You are so very welcome to come move with us, even as a complete Pilates newbie. We completely understand that trying something new can be nerve-wracking, so here are a few things to consider to alleviate any doubts.

1. We strongly recommend starting your Pilates experience either with one of the options detailed on our How to Start page here . These options ensure you’ll have a chance to get familiar with the equipment and to move through some of the foundational exercises so that you’re not lost when it comes time to try some of the other group class formats.

2. Plan to arrive to the studio 5-10 minutes early. Plan to give yourself enough time to take off your shoes, silence your phone, use the toilet, etc., so that you can start your class in a state of calm rather than frantic-ness. Trust us, this helps a lot.

3. Please know that you can talk to us about anything going on that day that might impact your Pilates session, and at the same time your privacy is your privacy. We are here to help, guide, support and facilitate. It is your choice what you do or do not disclose to us. Bear in mind, when attending a group class, our scope to help is somewhat limited by nature of the group scenario.

Cancellations must be made by you via your MindBody account (either online or through the app).
For regular group classes, cancellations must be made via your MindBody account at least 12 hours in advance of the class.
For private sessions, cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the session.
For special events, (e.g. workshops, retreats, etc.) please refer to event description for cancellation windows.
If you cancel before the cancellation window closes, your credit will be returned to your account to use for another booking.
If the cancellation period has passed, LATE CANCEL will appear. This allows you or someone else to book that class, session or event.
Missed sessions without the appropriate notice will be charged as if attended.
Late cancellations or no-shows for private sessions will result in forfeiture of the session and a loss of the financial investment at the rate of one session.

Get in touch and we can chat through your options – whatever your concern is. We offer individual sessions as well as group classes. Private sessions are always tailored to the individual’s needs. When it comes to group classes, we have a variety of class styles and we’re happy to help guide you in the right direction for where you’re at.

With Pilates, there is a place to start for everyone. We are here to help you work out where’s best to start. You don’t have to be a certain level of ‘fit’ or ‘flexible’ to start with us at Glow Pilates.

The more information we have regarding your concern, and the more notice we have prior to you coming to class, the better we can help you prepare for your experience in our studio. So, get in touch.

We do not currently offer pregnancy-specific group classes.  Instead, we invite you to chat to us about where you’re at with your pregnancy, and we’ll help you navigate the best course of action.

Please also know that we are all too happy to coordinate with your physiotherapist, doctor, massage therapist, etc., to help you get what you need from Pilates as it relates to your injury or limitation.

The answer to this really depends on your goals. Once a week is better than not at all, of course. But to make more lasting changes, coming to class 2-3 times a week times a week is ideal. The more often you practice, the more frequently you’ll be reiterating to your body the good stuff its learning, and you’ll experience improvements strength, mobility, and your overall sense of wellbeing more quickly and more sustainably.

Wear clothing that you can move in, something that stretches and that you feel comfortable in. We ask that you please wear socks for hygiene reasons – any socks at all will do. We have grip socks available for purchase in the studio.
